What to expect
When your GP sends a referral, you will be contacted to arrange a consultation with Dr Salter that takes place within 2 weeks. At the initial appointment, Dr Salter will assess you, talk through any worries you have, explain what the operation involves and the benefits and risks of the surgery.
When you have surgery, Dr Salter will call your next of kin when the operation is finished. She will see you on the ward to explain the operation findings and discuss the recovery and follow up arrangements.
On discharge, Dr Salter will send a discharge letter to your GP to let them know how your operation progressed, your recovery and the follow-up plan.
