General & Renal
Transplant Surgeon

Duty To Serve

Dr Sherry Salter MB ChB, FRACS, PFET (Transplant) is the first female of Pacific Island heritage to qualify as both a General and a Renal Transplant Surgeon in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

She is a generalist in an increasingly subspecialised field of surgery. Her work focusses mainly on operating on gallbladders, hernias, skin lesions, the appendix and she also performs renal access surgery and kidney transplants for patients with renal failure. Dr Salter consults across Melbourne's Inner South and South East, Bayside and the Mornington Peninsula.

When growing up, her father's directive was clear: choose a life of service, and Sherry chose medicine. Dr Salter’s duty to serve shows in the way she treats her patients, the support she gives GPs, and the approach she takes with the trainees and people she mentors.
